Washington Update

Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, the HAI Government Affairs team began developing the Legislative Action Center (LAC), a members-only site designed to inform members of developments in Washington and our corresponding advocacy efforts. A key component of the site is the Washington Update, a regularly occurring summary of noteworthy issues. Starting today, we will now email the summary directly to HAI members in the US.

IRS: Aviation Excise Tax Holiday under the CARES Act FAQs

PPP: Loan Forgiveness Application

On Wednesday evening, March 25, the US Senate unanimously approved a $2 trillion emergency relief bill providing stimulus funds to a US economy reeling from the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, March 27, the House is expected to pass the bill, which includes specific measures aimed at general aviation businesses.
