    Auditor Code of Ethics

    HAI-APS auditors are responsible for conducting themselves such that their integrity is never in question. To that end auditors shall apply and uphold the following Auditor Code of Ethics as outlined in Accreditation Program of Safety Manual:
    • Auditors shall perform their work with honesty, diligence, and responsibility
    • Auditors shall act in a professional manner in dealing with clients and the parties in the HAI-APS
    • Auditors shall not participate in any activity or relationship or accept anything that may impair or be presumed to impair their unbiased professional judgment
    • Auditors shall be prudent in the use and protection of information acquired in the course of their duties
    • Auditors shall perform services only in their areas of competence.

    Auditor Insurance Requirements

    HAI-APS auditors are required to maintain the following minimum insurance coverage:
    • Public liability coverage in the amount of at least 1,000,000 USD per occurrence
    • Professional indemnity coverage in the amount of at least 1,000,000 USD per occurrence, with an endorsement covering the scope of services outlined in the Accreditation Program of Safety Manual
    • Workers’ compensation coverage, as required by law.
    • Auditors will ensure that HAI is provided current certificates of insurance documenting the above coverage.

    Membership Classification

    As part of the course payment for your auditor training you will undergo if your are accepted, you will automatically receive an HAI individual membership for the current year!

    Acceptance

    If your application is approved, HAI will send you an invoice for $250. Your payment of $250 includes:
    • HAI Individual Membership for the current year
    • iAuditor Access / HMSS Audit Templates / HAI APS/HMSS Manuals for the current year (upon completing the Auditor Course)
    • HAI-Auditor Authorization for the current year (upon completing the Auditor Course)
    • Note: Auditors are required to complete “online” auditor recurrent training on, or after, January 1st of each year, to review new HAI-APS Program materials and accreditation standards. The online recurrent training course fee is $250 and, when paid, will renew items 1-3 above for the current year.
